It is a quartz crystal that is encrusted by a second generation of smaller crystals grown on its prism faces.
These crystals were first discovered in 1986 in the Magaliesberg Mountain Range near Pretoria, South Africa. The tribal medicine men called it "Spirit Quartz" because used it in their healing rituals.
